How I Helped These Clients Retire Early (Financial Planning in Action)
Financial Planning is a bit of a myth. What even is it? Do you know what a Financial Planner actually does? Is it the same as a Financial Adviser? In this video I wanted to show you more about what Financial Planning actually is by walking you through an example. I helped these clients retire early through the power of a proper Financial Plan and a detailed discussion about what they really wanted to achieve. How could you apply this to your own situation?

Average pay now growing faster than inflation!
Просмотров 2,2 тыс.9 месяцев назад
Average pay is now growing faster than the rate of inflation as UK wages grow at 7.8%, and that’s despite a slowing jobs market. This is significant because these wage figures have grown at the fastest pace on record in the three months to July, despite the backdrop of a weaker jobs market where the rate of unemployment has actually risen slightly and people getting new jobs has also slowed dow...

I actually enjoyed my work, as in the physical and mental tasks I was employed to carry out. It was people who made it difficult and tedious. I didn’t like being controlled by incompetent and sometimes toxic managers. I also worked for companies who employed people to tick the diversity box. Often the people who they recruited were inept, and not even suitably qualified. There was a period I had of working on a team of lazy, complaining whingers who made every work day absolutely miserable. My wife and I retired early and are totally enjoying life. We would never return to the workplace. We wake up everyday and thank our lucky stars that our working days are behind us. Save some FU money, and as soon as you get sick of your job or the people around you walk away. You’ll be happier and probably live longer.

The first £200k (I missed the £100k date) took from 2007 (age 29, apart from an earlier pension that was tiny until it got adjusted for SERPs after 2007, I still don't understand this) to around 2021. If I had to guess the £100k date was probably around 2017. I'm getting close to £300k at the moment although some of that has to go on house maintenance (still, that's maintaining an investment, so valid expenditure) soon :(.

Since some of my NICs before 2016 were contacted out, I need 38 years of contribution to get the full State Pension. This was news to me as I has no idea! The Financial independence is the bit that makes sense to me. Sure, I could be in a job I love, but there are too many variables when doing a job - the biggest of which is other people. So you might have the job you love, but a boss you don't, or a team you don't, or customers you don't. Having the financial independence to be able to do something else, or do the same job, but somewhere else, or deciding that today I don't want to do my job, I want to do something else for the day is the key.

I have a S&S ISA with T212 and a business investing account with Invest engine, largely because they are the only platform that allows me to invest spare company cash in ETF's. That said, Invest engine's platform is simple but clunky, with delays in depositing cash and a wait in purchases, both in the actual purchase itsrlf and then the purchase hitting my account. On the upside, if you can't find an ETF on IE, if you message them and ask they have made it available pretty quickly and their comms teams are good and prompt in replying. If you want slick, and quick and loads of buying option (and being able to practice for free, CFD etc) then T212 is for you. If like me, you want cheap ETF's, especially for spare company cash, the IE is alright.

PLEASE HELP ..... I've been looking for an answer to this one for years : I work part time .. I rent and I have a works pension (ages 60) From what I can gather, the poverty trap means that I could well end out up being worse off than if I was on pension credit Because I'd loose out on numerous benefits like cold weather payments, opticians and dentists HOW CAN I AVOID BEING WORSE OFF THAN PEOPLE WHO DON'T PAY INTO A PENSION PLEASE ?

I like how his analogy is point to a world ending crisis lol. Like if the s&p goes down I think we'll have bigger concerns than where my money is invested 😂

They also want you to sign up for 10 year's when you make your first payment. It's a great app and platform but they are definitely dodgy.

The S&P500 is not the mag 7 and will never be, it's ONLY the mag 7 NOW... it's dynamic, as in if the mag 7 fail, it rotates and self cleanses with the companies in whatever the next hot industry is. Every decade, the list of the top 10 companies are always different... the index self cleanses and you are not at risk because the SPY is "overweight" on big tech/mag 7. Furthermore, many other developed economies including Germany have their national indices way more concentrated than the SPY.

Whats the point in saving when the Government can change the rules at anytime ? They are now passing legislation to spy on pensioners private bank accounts & stealthily reducing Ni , the link to pensions . Clearly they are planning to means test the state pension. Having a big pension pot would mean losing the state pension even after youve paid decades in Ni & taxes . Completely immoral & wrong & will just discourage work & saving . Why work & save for retirement to give it all to the Government at retirement.

Iam 63 and disabled and now own my home. I live off a private pension (at 60) and Advanced Motability: Currently involved in helping my child with dept. In 1 year the problem will be solved. I will then be able to save; but now I hear benefits will be stopped at £ 16,000. You can't get a decent car for this amount. My wife and I will need a bungalow in the next few years. How can we save?

Good review. I don’t see it being sustainable longer term and doubt people with bigger portfolios transfer. The 20yr olds doing their recreational investing with a few k on meme ETFs won’t sustain growth. They need to convince the mature crowed with 25k > ISAs with nice direct debits to switch, the MVP, basic app won’t sell that. I’m sticking with vanguard (ISA) and HL (fund and share ). I played with IE, did the managed portfolio and self selected one for a few months to experiment and decided not to continue. Only need 1 or 2 global index ETFs / funds.
